Requirement for the role
The IELTS for a caregiver job is UKVI general training. The exam is 116000. Note, it’s different from the normal IELTS general which is 107500, and can be done in almost all states in Nigeria. This exam can only be done at Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt in Nigeria.
Format of the Exam
UKVI IELTS has 4 modules: Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. And none of these should be less than 4 for you to qualify for the job. Overall must be 4.5 and above.
Salary
The average caregiver salary in the United Kingdom is £22,913 per year or £11.75 per hour. Entry-level positions start at £20,963 per year while most experienced workers make up to £30,194 per year
Work hours
All live-in caregivers work 56 hours per week (eight hours per day). Also, over half of the care workers work 35 hours or more a week, which is roughly the same as working full-time.
How to secure the job
You can get the COS through an agent that works with any of the Care homes or you can contact one of your relatives and friends abroad to secure it for you. The latter way is safer, better, and cheaper. Beware of scammers.
