This is one of the biggest questions asked by candidates. To answer this, these two International bodies are the only ones licensed to conduct IELTS in Nigeria. This means you can do your exam with any. The choice depends on you and the one available in your locality.

The controversy here is this, some folks believe people pass IDP IELTS more than IDP, but this is not true in any way.

At Grace Edu Consult, we have trained about 1000 students who have sat for their exams with either of these two bodies. And this experience has shown that the assertion isn’t true. Even IDP as a body debunked this.

As an IELTS expert, I have seen a student who did 3 exams with the British Council, the person crossed to IDP, and do another 4, making about 7 IELTS exams in a space of 2 years. In all of these exams, no success.

What’s my advice for you? Don’t approach the IELTS exam with a biased mind toward one body or the other. Instead, focus on your preparation. When I get students to prepare this way, my experience has shown that students can pass either IELTS witCouncilr the British council because there is no critical difference between the two, except in their administration.
